💍 Color Inspiration & Examples:

📌 Titanium Anodizing Color Change: Key Q&A

Q1: What is titanium anodizing for color change? Is it safe?
Titanium anodizing is an electrochemical process that grows a transparent oxide film on the metal's surface to create color. The color is produced by light interference within this film, not by adding paint, plating, or dyes. This oxide layer is hard, strongly bonded, non-toxic, and biocompatible, making it the same safe material used for medical implants and high-end jewelry. It is extremely skin-friendly.

Q2: Which jewelry pieces can be anodized for color change?
All jewelry made from pure titanium or titanium alloys can be anodized.

Q3: What colors can be achieved? Are they permanent?
By precisely controlling parameters like voltage, a wide spectrum can be achieved, including gold, blue, purple, green, grey, and various gradients.
The color within the oxide layer is highly stable and fade-resistant. However, like any metal finish, it should be protected from prolonged intense abrasion or sharp scratches. With normal wear, the color will last for a very long time.

Q4: How do I care for an anodized piece?
Care is simple: clean with a soft, damp cloth. It is safe to wear while showering or swimming. Avoid contact with strong acids, alkalis, or abrasive cleaners (like some toothpaste with whitening granules).

⚙️ Titanium Alloy Anodizing Process

🌟 Pre-treatment
First, the titanium alloy surface is renewed to be smooth and flawless. Through processes like acid cleaning (pickling) or mechanical polishing, contaminants and oxide layers are thoroughly removed, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent steps.

🔧 Electrochemical Reaction
In an electrolyte solution, an electric current is passed through the titanium alloy surface, initiating an electrochemical reaction. This process requires a DC power supply, with the titanium alloy acting as the anode and typically aluminum or lead serving as the cathode.

🌈 Oxide Layer Formation
During the electrochemical reaction, an oxide layer begins to form on the titanium alloy surface. This layer, composed of titanium and oxygen, is called the titanium oxide layer. It gradually thickens, forming a tight coating over the metal surface.

🎨 Oxide Film Formation
By controlling factors such as the electrolyte compositiontemperaturecurrent density, and processing time, we can precisely adjust the thickness and color of the oxide film. These parameters collectively determine the film’s final appearance and properties.

🔒 Sealing Treatment
The final step is the sealing treatment, which enhances the corrosion resistancehardness, and wear resistance of the oxide layer. This can be achieved through heat treatment or immersion in a sealing agent.

🛡️ Objective
The goal of titanium alloy anodizing is to improve the corrosion resistancehardness, and wear resistance of the titanium alloy surface, while also giving it diverse and customizable aesthetic characteristics.
